However- a new group has emerged called the Friends of Oak Island Society and regular island tours are becoming a feature. Two weekends with over 12 tours took place recently and several hundred people had the opportunity to walk the island with a wonderful tour guide. However, once a year, usually in June, the island does open up for guided tours to the public. These are called "Oak Island Days". You can contact the resort for more information to see if the island will be opening to the public again this year. Cheers!
